We want to encourage advanced analysis and systematic conservation planning to make sure the right areas are being protected. Marxan Web is an online version of the widely-used DOS-base decision support tool called Marxan. The purpose of the tool is to support the extension of protected area networks using algorithms which optimise the protection for key conservation features at minimum cost. Over time, we aim to add other analytical tools to our portfolio, benefiting from the improved data and knowledge gathered through the BIOPAMA Regional Observatories.
